OPWDD Services
Developmental Disabilities
Ahivim’s services are designed with one goal in mind: to help you thrive.
Our dedicated staff helps individuals to learn and maintain important life skills within the framework of their family, community, or independent living setup. With 1:1 attention and care, individuals gain the daily skills and confidence they need to achieve their goals.
Whether it’s social and communication skills, time management, travel training, money management, or everyday general activities, our goal is to empower every individual to lead fulfilling lives and participate in their communities.
Individuals that participate in our Day Hab learn essential life skills in a non-site-based setting. This ‘without walls’ setup allows them to practice these skills within the community, allowing them to interact with others, and use their skills in real-life scenarios.
From problem-solving to social and communication skills, we aim to bring out the potential of every individual and give them a chance to explore the things they love.
Our respite services are designed to give caregivers a chance to take a break and recharge while Ahivim professionals take over their responsibilities for a short period of time.
We’ll step in with overnight care in the comfort of the individual’s home or in a community site, so they can feel secure in their familiar surroundings.
Ahivim’s Sleepaway Summer Camp Respite programs are filled with exciting activities and opportunities, affording caregivers a break while knowing their loved ones are in good hands.
We believe in bringing out the potential of every individual we encounter. Our community-based prevocational services help individuals acquire employment skills and broaden their employment opportunities so they can live their lives to the fullest. Aside from direct care training we also assist individuals in community volunteering so they can have a chance to practice their skills within the community.
These skills include time management, travel training, team collaboration, communication, technology training, and more.
Self-Directed Fiscal Intermediary services allow individuals and their families to self-sufficiently manage their OPWDD services. This gives you the flexibility to choose your care staff, determine your schedule, and participate in community classes.
Your Self-Direction Support Broker will walk you through the process and available options and will help you find the best course of action while keeping your budget in mind.
In order to refer children and youths to the services that will help them most, our care managers conduct assessments to determine the individual’s specific behavioral and physical health needs. These services range from psychotherapy, counseling, behavioral health services, primary care physicians, specialty services, children’s HCBS, and more.
Our care managers give ongoing support, communicating with the health care providers to ensure the individual’s needs are properly met and checking in with the individuals and their families personally on an as-needed basis.
